Postal Processing
Postal Processing at MTI improves the
quality of your address records. We identify when address records
do not contain the most current postal formatting components and,
optionally, use The NCOALink™ software
to supply the most recent addresses of recipients and/or enhance
the zip codes. All of this translates to ensuring that the maximum
number of your mail pieces receive the maximum postage discounts.
The bottom line is maximizing the value of your postage costs.
When we receive your
data files, we separate and examine the address information to standardize
non-common abbreviations, street directional information, city spelling
and state designators.

The standardized address can then be compared
to a similarly standardized address directory. Once the process
is complete, the 9-digit zip code is translated into a delivery
point barcode. The delivery point code allows for postal sorting
right down to the carrier level. This is the level of detail that
competitive businesses require and you should demand. You benefit
from faster transit of your documents as well as lower postage costs.
